Prescribing Behavior

Overprescribing has helped fuel the opioid crisis. Prescriber and patient education about the high risk of addiction and alternative pain management is essential.

Prescribers’ Outreach

Our Physicians’ Working Group helps educate local physicians and dentists about new CDC Prescribing Guidelines, about the New Jersey laws limiting the days supply of prescriptions, and mandated participation in the Prescription Monitoring Program. As part of our participation in the Partnership for Drug Free New Jersey’s Knock Out Opiate Abuse Day, we distributed their Resource for Safer Prescribing to local physicians, with follow up phone calls.

Additional prescriber resources can be found here.
