Creating Positive Change Through Leadership & Service
YLC is comprised of local high school students who work together to support CIC’s overall mission of changing the culture of youth substance use in our community. YLC members take part in a variety of activities that support their communities and their schools. They work with CIC staff to create prevention programs, host tabling events and enhance our One Clear Path campaign. There are opportunities for leadership training and participation in a national conference.

Be the difference.
“YLC has given me the opportunity to do inspiring work around the community and cultivate my leadership skills in a supportive and comfortable environment. I am passionate about touching the lives of others and making a lasting impact on the world. YLC has equipped me with skills and experiences I will carry with me for the rest of my life!” – Junior at Ridge.
“I decided to join Community in Crisis because I wanted to make a change in my community, and I really liked what the organization is doing in order to prevent drug use/help people who are in need.” – Junior, Bernards High.
Lead with Love.
Let's see how far this act of kindness can go!
The CIC Youth Leadership Council teamed up with youth across the county to send goodie bags filled with treats and good wishes to students taking their year-end exams. The idea was for recipients to then pay it forward by sending goodie bags to two more people. The first round of the initiative reached over 400 students in Somerset County.
