DESCRIPTION:Naloxone Saves Lives: Make a stand against opioid overdose and carry Narcan. \nNaloxone is a life-saving medication that can rapidly reverse the effects of an opioid overdose. It works by binding to opioid receptors in the brain\, quickly restoring normal breathing to a person whose breathing has slowed or stopped due to overdosing with heroin or prescription opioid pain medications. \nCertified Peer Recovery Specialists from Community in Connection will be on-hand to give away free Narcan kits\, Fentanyl test strips\, and other valuable life-saving items. They will provide instructions on how to administer Narcan and answer any questions you may have. \nBrought to you by the Raritan Valley Habitat for Humanity ReStore in Collaboration with Community in Connection\, Somerset County’s Peer Recovery Center.

SUMMARY:Horses for a Healthy Lifestyle
DESCRIPTION:Horses for a Healthy Lifestyle (HHL)\, a component of our Community in Connection programming\, is an equine interaction program in partnership with Mane Stream of Oldwick\, NJ. This free program gives participants the opportunity to relate to each other while partnering with horses in a safe and natural environment under the guidance of EAGALA certified professionals. \nMANE STREAM \n83 Old Turnpike Road\, Oldwick\, NJ \nJuly 27 @ 1:30pm (Plan to meet at 1:15) \nThroughout the HHL experience\, participants will begin to rebuild an alliance of trust\, while learning new skills and improving overall wellbeing. The connection made between participants and the horses is a powerful experience that enhances self-awareness and promotes growth. Horses provide a natural way to build trust and give honest feedback regarding personal feelings and emotions that may not otherwise surface. \nParticipation is limited.
